Jesse Jean Jorgensen was born in Houston, Texas on April 3, 1894. He lived in Mexico City from 1890 to 1919. He married Elizabeth Agnes Jorgensen. In 1922, they moved to Ancon, Balboa, Canal Zone where he worked initially for the Electrical Division of the Panama Canal Company. In 1945 he transferred to the Telephone Section of the Panama Railroad where he worked on the installation and maintenance of telephones. Upon retirement, he remained in Panama. He died on August 4, 1958 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery with his wife, Elizabeth Agnes Jorgensen.
