Notes
Lieutenant Holland was a veteran of World War II serving as a fighter pilot aboard the carrier USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CV-47). During the Korean War, he was a member of the 851st Fighter Reserve Squadron at the Brunswick Naval Air Station, Maine, training to board the carrier USS TARAWA (CV-40). On August 19, 1953, he lost control of his propeller driven Bearcat and it crashed to the ground.
