Wilbur Dyer Fisher Cunningham was born in Petersburg, West Virginia on September 1, 1890. He married Elizabeth Jane Grace on August 15, 1911. He divorced Elizabeth in 1930. He married Virginia S. Cunningham on April 2, 1933. He divorced Virginia on April 2, 1945 and married Rose Mary Dorsey on April 12, 1945. Later he married Idaly. He enlisted in the Maryland National Guard and served as Sergeant in Company G, 1st Maryland Infantry during the Mexican Border War and World War I serving in France. He returned to reserve status in 1919. During the 30's he worked for the Panama Canal Company as Foreman for the Mt. Hope Oil Handling Plant. He was drafted during World War II serving as a Lieutenant Colonel Repair Squadron, 6th Air Force. After World War II, he was a businessman in Panama installing printing equipment and was Plant foreman on the newspaper "The Star & Herald." He died on May 16, 1961 at Gorgas Army Hospital and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
