Steven M. Alton was born in California in 1870. He moved to the Canal Zone and worked for the Civil Administration Section, Panama Canal Company, living at Porto Bello. He died on September 9, 1911. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then re-interred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
